I'm an Internet junkie. I pretty much eat, sleep and breathe my handy-dandy little laptop (a 2006 HP Pavilion dv6000 that runs Windows XP -- much more reliable than Vista, although I plan to upgrade to Linux shortly).
The following are just some fun sites I regularly visit. Some are writing-related, others are just great, maybe useful sites. I'll be adding more as time allows..
Writing Links:
Absolute Write -- Comprehensive writing-related site for writers of any genre: freelance writers, copywriters, screenwriters, playwrights, novelists, even bumper-sticker scribblers.
WritersWeekly -- Another great writing site, geared more towards freelancers and commercial writers. Good for practical advice and market listings.
Mridu Khullar -- One of my favorite freelancers, Mridu is based in India (for the moment) and has written for tons of publications, including Writers' Digest and Time.
Freelance Writing Gigs -- Tons of market listings from various sources (e.g., Craigslist, JournalismJobs.com, Mediabistro.com, etc). Updated daily.
Newspapers:
Grand Junction Free Press -- Best local paper here in town. Oh, and did I mention that I have a weekly column in it that runs every Wednesday?
New York Times -- Still the best national paper. I love that they no longer have premium content. Hurray for open access!
Sydney Morning Herald -- Great for checking out what the rest of the world thinks of us. Well, what our friends Down Under think of us anyway. Better writing than more American newspapers, with generally more snark.
